The Moreton Hybrid tomato was discontinued a few years back but now with a cooperative agreement between Rutgers University and Harris Seeds it’s back! Rutgers University had interest in reintroducing old hybrid tomato varieties known for their outstanding flavor. Through a cooperative agreement between Rutgers and Harris Seeds, Moreton Hybrid tomato seeds have returned! Although it’s not a firm tomato, it’s known as a tomato connoisseur’s favorite. Its large, meaty, delicious fruit mature early. It has an oblate shape and rich red color. Its indeterminate vines do best on stakes or trellises and produce over a long period. Resistant to Verticillium.
